Synopsis[]
Raf sneaks into Sulfus' dorm at night, telling him she has the incantation to enter The Portrait Hall (to his impressed amazement) and again asking for his help to open its door. Though he still doesn't approve, he finally concedes and together they journey to the Room of Portraits. He tries one more time to have her reconsider destroying her life for the sake of Reina's words, but she's determined to know her history and uses the incantation to let them both inside.
They're overwhelmed by the number of pictures, each representing the freedom of humans to be angel-like or devil-like. The two playfully banter over which Andrea is more like but as they turn to the hunt for Raf's parents, they're interrupted by the arrival of Reina. The smug villain reveals her ploy in using Raf to enter the Portrait Hall, her goal is to steal the portraits and take control of all the human-beings. This is all for the sake of revenge against angels and devils as, without humans to guide, the Eternals lose their purpose.
Raf and Sulfus try to run to warn their teachers, but they're caught by Reina and forced to fight. She enchants Malachia into a monster with the Black Sphere and sends him to defend her. Malachia and Sulfus duke it out, but as Malachia gains the upper hand, Raf swoops in to help her rival. Reina, however, has had enough distractions and uses her Black Sphere to bring down both apprentices and clear the way to the portraits. Malachia also returns to normal but worries that removing the Human's portraits will engulf them in a sacrilegious wave, a fear born of an intuition he doesn't understand. Reina assures him that so long as they have the Black Sphere, such a thing won't happen, which is enough to convince him to begin the process. Beginning with the image of Andrea.
At home in his own bed, Andrea is overcome with the desire to serve Reina and instantly becomes one of her slaves.
