"(...) But I am a general and a warrior above all else, and I will win this battle, no matter what the cost turns out to be!"
— Cassidy, to Arkhan's question (Season 2)

Cassidy is one of the two main antagonists of Season 2. She is one of Angelie’s kidnappers and used to be the warlord of the Angelic Army. She was released from duty after the war came to an end, prompting her desire to nullify the V.E.T.O. and her alliance with Kubral.

She is also one of the new teachers in the second year at the Golden School.

Personality and Traits[]

Cassidy was a warlord of the angelic army. She opposes the notion of peace and the V.E.T.O. out of principle, as she firmly believes angels would be victorious over devils. She is cruel, cunning, ruthless, tyrannical and manipulative, and is not beyond using others, including her students, for her plans. She presents herself as a stern but well-meaning teacher while also comploting against Raf, Sulfus, and their friends in secret.

In spite of being an angel, Cassidy is prone to use rules and authority in her favor rather than good. She prioritizes her goal of destroying all devils and defeating Kubral above any sense of morality. Despite her methods and ambitions, Cassidy will still keep her promises and showcase a strong sense of warrior's pride and honor.

Background

Cassidy was a warlord who led the angelic army in the war between angels and devils that lasted a thousand centuries. The score was closely tied between the two factions: angels would win one battle, only lose to the devils in the next, and so on. At some point in history, it was predicted that the Comet of Destiny would pass close to Earth; with its godlike powers, the Comet would decide the eventual victor and the losing faction would instead dissapear forever. This prompted the war to end with no official winner, as the risk of disappearing forever was deemed too high by both angels and devils.

In order to restart the war, Cassidy confabs with Kubral and suggests they kidnap Angelie, a plan he promptly agrees with. Cassidy believed that Angelie's abduction would prompt angels and devils to blame each other for this, reigniting the war in the process. The plan seemingly worked at first, as both generals brought their troops to meet on the battlefield. However, just before the deciding battle could end, the libra of the V.E.T.O. was created, therefore preventing any war from happening and maintaining the universal balance between the good and evil. Both angelic and diabolic forces retreated once more, leaving no victor for a second time. The two warlords were opposed to the truce, and wanted to eliminate the free will across the universe.

Two centuries later, Cassidy and Kubral become the head teachers of the Golden School and use their position to further their goal: destroy the V.E.T.O. and start the war again so the universal balance can be broken in order to eliminate all free will.

The season starts with Cassidy as a new angelic teacher of the Golden School, specifically as a substitute for Arkhan while he's away (which is most of the season). While enacting her role as head teacher, Cassidy also carries on her secret plans to destroy the libra of the V.E.T.O. alongside Kubral; despite being mortal enemies, both joined forces and plotted for centuries up until now, when they can finally put their plans in motion.

Their plan required for them to locate the libra of the V.E.T.O. The libra, which is the physical representation of the V.E.T.O. and therefore could be destroyed, is found in a secret location unknown to both angels and devils. Only a discordant vibration would lead directly to the Temple of the V.E.T.O. where the libra is kept. Said discordant vibration could only be caused when a half-human, half-eternal heart beats while overcome with feelings of equal love and hate, felt at the same time. Since Raf fits the role thanks to her human origins, she becomes the target of the warlords' plans.

They disguise their identities and threaten Sulfus to obey their orders, telling him that they would hurt Angelie if he doesn't; they also take over the mind of Basilisco to keep him under surveilance. Sulfus is forced to ignore Raf and play with her feelings for a while, only to be forced to win her heart again later on. Cassidy and Kubral try to force Sulfus to kiss Dolce, which he refuses to do, so they imprison him instead in their underground lair. They take same hair from him and conjure a magical clone. The clone uses Basilisco's poison to make Dolce hallucinate and think he is Alessandro, the earthy one she loves. The clone manages to kiss Dolce in front of Raf, which causes the latter to feel both love and hate as she sees them and emit a discordant vibration; with this, Cassidy and Kubral leave the Golden School so they can follow the path to the Temple of the V.E.T.O.

Later on, Raf and Sulfus manage to reach the Temple themselves, however they are ambushed by Blu, then Cassidy and Kubral. Raf is forced to see how Blu tries to kill Sulfus in front of her, while she remains trapped behind a seemingly unbreakable glass cage. However, when Cassidy and Kubral torture Sulfus even further, Raf releases her angelic star which is strong enough to break her cage, but also destroys the libra of the V.E.T.O. in the process. After succeeding in their plan to destroy the libra, both generals gladly leave their defeated students behind, as they are now free to start their war again.

After some researching, the angel and devil students find a way to prevent the war. Raf and Sulfus issue a formal challenge to Cassidy and Kubral; should they win, they'd become the new generals and simply call off their respective armies. The generals agree to play by the rules and accept their formal challenge. The students manage to defeat the angelic and diabolic elite warriors, which only leaves one final showdown between Raf, Sulfus, Cassidy and Kubral left. the younger pair is at a disadvantage and are quickly cornered by the generals, who chain them down and electrocute them repeatedly. As Raf and Sulfus weaken and can barely remain conscious, they decide to hold each other one last time. Their embrace emits a light which hits the Comet of Destiny, causing it to change course away from Earth and restoring balance since there won't be a final victor yet again. The diabolic and angelic forces refuse to fight each other and Cassidy and Kubral lose their supreme general powers. They are stripped from their rank and arrested for upsetting the universal balance, thus making Raf and Sulfus as the victors.
